From Dada-ists to the Post-Modernists, the Avant-Garde movement has produced some of the most experimental and innovative works of art. From Picasso to Dali, Gaugin to Andy Warhol, Avant-Garde artists push the boundaries of known art to the limits.
What could be more Avant-Garde than combining edgy, innovative techniques with the more traditional art of Wyland? Known for his larger-than-life underwater murals, Wyland’s acrylic pieces have captured the attention of art-lovers everywhere and increased awareness of various environmental issues.
In our Exploring Painting Techniques With Wyland’s Art project, students will explore a variety of Avant-Garde techniques, including Impressionism, Expressionism, Fauvism, Cubism, Pop Art, and more, and then complete a pre-printed Wyland canvas using their preferred technique.
