Since 2016, School Specialty and Sax have partnered with the national award-winning non-profit organization, Fresh Artists® to bring the benefits of art education to students across the country. In its third year, both groups are considering the partnership a resounding success.
Like School Specialty and Sax, Fresh Artists believes that art has the power to change lives and has helped facilitate the distribution of new art supplies to more than 330,000 children in the U.S. to date. Fresh Artists’ flagship program empowers student artists to help other students by authorizing the digital reproduction of their artwork to be printed large-scale and offered as a thank you in exchange for corporate donations. In turn, these donations fund the art programs and the purchase of art supplies that are then distributed to schools in need.
With a shared passion for art education and inspiring the artist in every student, the partnership between School Specialty/Sax and Fresh Artists enables the distribution of quality art supplies to even more students, tangibly changing lives and communities for the better.
Additional Fresh Artists programs include Clothesline Art Sale, boxes packed with everything students need to raise money for art supplies on their own; the Mini-Masterpieces program introducing student artists to the classics; Artful All-Calls art challenges; Cool Jobs career inspiration events; Silly City art projects recreating historical sites and neighborhoods, and paper mosaics Chip Art art kits. Each unique program is designed to empower teachers and students to make a difference for themselves and their communities as well as other students in other communities, through art.
Teachers who are interested in submitting student art to support the Fresh Artists program can find more information on the Fresh Artists website.
We encourage you to learn more about Fresh Artists and their commitment to empowering young lives, exhibiting their artwork in highly visible and unexpected places, and bringing art supplies and innovative art programs to children in severely underfunded schools.
